About Kimichi School
Kimichi School Worcester is an independent music specialist school, which opened in 2026.
We offer the same academic quality you would undoubtedly expect from similar institutions but with the added bonus of affordable fees, smaller class sizes and instrumental lessons included. We accept children throughout the school year, if places are available, from the age of 9 up to 18.
Music
Music is at the centre of everything we do at Kimichi Worcester and forms an essential part of everyday school life. Every pupil learns at least one instrument, and for beginners there is no better environment in which to start their musical journey. Instrumental tuition is built into the curriculum, and all students take part in regular performances with school ensembles.
For pupils hoping to pursue music more seriously, a wide range of additional support is available. Professional musicians regularly contribute to the life of the school, and our partnerships with leading music organisations help students access valuable opportunities and experiences. We provide guidance for auditions, graded exams, recitals, and extra rehearsal time where needed. The positive impact of music education is widely recognised, supporting not only academic achievement but also confidence, discipline, creativity, and wellbeing.
Minds
At Kimichi Worcester, we believe education should prepare young people for far more than examinations alone. Our aim is to help students grow into confident, capable, and socially aware individuals who are fully equipped for life beyond school, whatever path they choose to follow.
Alongside academic study, our LIFE programme focuses on practical everyday skills that students will use throughout adulthood. Topics include personal finance, budgeting, cooking, independent living, basic DIY, road safety, wellbeing, and other valuable life skills designed to build confidence and independence.
Student wellbeing also plays a central role within our school community. With increasing awareness around mental health and emotional resilience, we place strong importance on pastoral care, mindfulness, and emotional support. Having dedicated mental health professionals within the school allows us to provide guidance and support that helps students feel safe, understood, and able to thrive both personally and academically.
Motivation
At Kimichi Worcester, we encourage students to see themselves not only as members of a school community, but also as part of a wider national and global society. Building positive relationships with other schools, both within the local area and internationally, helps students broaden their perspectives while developing an understanding of British values, culture, and global citizenship.
Learning at Kimichi Worcester is creative, engaging, and highly interactive. We encourage pupils to ask questions, explore ideas deeply, and develop their own interests through hands-on experiences and collaborative learning. Our staff value curiosity and enjoy supporting students as they expand their thinking and discover new passions.
With class sizes capped at just ten students, teaching can be tailored to the needs, strengths, and learning styles of every individual. This personalised approach allows each child to receive the support, challenge, and encouragement needed to achieve their full potential.
Learning beyond the classroom is also an important part of school life. Educational visits, enrichment activities, and real-world experiences help bring learning to life and strengthen students’ confidence and independence. Student voice is equally important within our school community, with the school council playing an active role in shaping day-to-day life at Kimichi Worcester. Pupils take genuine pride in contributing ideas, sharing responsibility, and helping create a positive and supportive environment for everyone.
